Obama is expected to campaign for Virginia Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, a rare decision for a former president. No events have yet been planned.
Quinnipiac University has Northam, the sitting lieutenant governor, at 47 percent among Virginia voters, to 39 percent for Gillespie, the former Republican National Committee chairman.
Gillespie's camp does not appear anxious that Obama will be on the campaign trail. The race was largely cast as the establishment versus the populist progressive, similar to the Democratic presidential primary contest a year ago. Northam's strongholds in the Democratic primary were in the so-called "Urban Crescent", the heavily populated areas of northern Virginia, Richmond and Hampton Roads.
Northam already has an eight-point polling lead over Republican candidate Ed Gillespie in the race, after the Republican nominee almost lost his primary to challenger Corey Stewart. "Virginians deserve to hear from candidates directly, in their own voices, about their own ideas and proposals".
Coconut oil not as healthy as we think?
When the amount of saturated fat in coconut oil is estimated to be 82 %, the amount ranges from 63%in butter and 39% in pork lard. Ok, so we should only eat coconut oil in moderation and save the globs for our homemade hair treatments.
Northam has a 39 - 24 favorability rating, with 39 percent of people who haven't formed an opinion about him yet.
But Perriello, who lost his seat in Congress over his vote for Obamacare and then went on to work for the Obama administration, invoked the former president anyway, airing footage of him with Obama in campaign ads.
In another boost for Democrats, Virginia voters say that they would like to see the democrats in control of the state legislature.
Northam is also getting a bump from the popularity of Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and Sens.
