Mansfield University freshman Hunter Watkins took home bronze in the javelin at USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
Four-time cancer survivor Gabe Grunewald competed in the 1500m event at the USATF Championship on Thursday and finished in ninth place. Southeastern Louisiana's Alexander Young was crowned the USATF Champion with a mark of 241-11. Former Northern Arizona Lumberjack Diego Estrada finished sixth in the race as he fought with the top of the pack for a berth to the world championships in London.
While Jackson ended his collegiate career with a personal best of 235-4 at the NCAA Championships, Wales threw her PR of 191-0 at the SEC Championships to win her second career SEC title in the javelin throw. Sitting in the middle of the 21-woman pack for much of the race, Bruce moved up into seventh in the first 2,800 meters before sitting in eighth for the majority of the final two-thirds of the run. The top three in each heat and the next four fastest times advanced to the semifinals - and Green was one of those four fastest.
