That's where the Boston Celtics are scheduled to pick after moving down two spots in a trade with Philadelphia, giving the 76ers the right to select Fultz with their second No. 1 pick in two years.

In an interview on ESPN, Calipari insisted "It's not broken", and said being selected in the National Basketball Association draft is the equivalent of putting a player on a so-called lifetime scholarship.

DULL DRAFT: Neither Golden State nor Cleveland, who met in the NBA Finals, has a pick in the two-round draft.

But Fultz made history for his former team on Thursday, when the Philadelphia 76ers selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft - a first for a UW men's basketball player. So if a deal is coming, it's likely going to be at the draft.

Boston selected Jayson Tatum with the No. 3 pick Thursday, adding a 6-foot-8 small forward who was a polished scoring threat during his lone season at Duke. Ball averaged 7.6 assists at UCLA, a testament to excellent passing, and made 41.2 percent of his three-pointers, many of them launched from well beyond the arc.

Things are expected to settle down a bit for at least the first two picks. All while being one of the younger prospects on the board, Tatum offers high-upside, and immediate production that Jaylen Brown did past year when Boston picked him.

"It's great", he said. "I can't wait to go and learn from coach (Brad) Stevens and Isaiah Thomas and just everybody on that roster".

This is the third consecutive year the Lakers have had the second overall pick.

He turned out to be correct. All of these questions will be answered during the draft, and we will be here to follow it all.

Senate GOP unveils 'Obamacare' overhaul, but not all aboard
The law has grown in popularity and many more Americans are insured, making the new safety net hard to unravel. Senate Republicans unveiled a 142-page draft bill Thursday to repeal and replace the Obama health care law.

"I mean, it's extremely gratifying for me to be in that top five, and we already knew that this was going to be a pretty tough draft and it was pretty loaded at the point guard position, and for me to be up there is just a blessing", Fox said.

That won't preclude him from revisiting some of those discussions once free agency opens next month, though. "It happens nearly every year, so I wasn't shocked about it".

It is not uncommon to find gold in the second round of an NBA Draft - Draymond Green was a second rounder - but more often than not a second round pick finds a career in the G-League (formerly D-League).

"Where we were and where we are, and the pieces, the real people that you can actually touch, and the three people that we're mostly talking about now in Embiid and Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz, the city has to feel fantastic", coach Brett Brown said.

The previous high for a Husky draft pick was Bob Houbregs. The school's previous highest-picked player was the late Bob Houbregs, taken No. 3 overall by Milwaukee in 1953. I was all for it.

Fultz and Ball led a record-setting run of one-and-dones in the National Basketball Association draft, which received a jolt early in the first round when the Chicago Bulls traded Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

■ The draft is fairly deep in talent, especially at point guard, where Fultz and Ball will have some ball-handling competition from Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox and North Carolina State's Dennis Smith, along with Frank Ntilikina, an worldwide prospect from France. He worked out twice for the Celtics, while Jackson didn't at all, and Isaac only once.

"He's the best fit for our team as a playmaker", Embiid said.
