The first look release and the title launch of the movie was scheduled on 22nd of June, on account on the actor's birthday. Vijay's Puli co-star Kichcha Sudeepa wished him a lifetime of "happiness and smiles" while Tamil actor Prasanna hoped Vijay will "keep all that inspirations coming".
The film has been titled as "Mersal". While the first poster gives us Vijay in a rustic and rural avatar, the second poster which unveils the look of the magician's character in the film is said to be the main comic relief element in the movie. The makers have released two posters. It looks like it could be his magician's role in the film.
