Regardless of political beliefs though, Ryan's newly introduced challenger Randy Bryce is a formidable everyman of an opponent and his first campaign ad announcing his candidacy for Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District is truly incredible to watch.
Randy Bryce, a US Army veteran, cancer survivor and "lifelong resident of southeastern Wisconsin", is seeking the Democratic nomination for Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District, which Ryan has represented for almost 20 years.
A Wall Street Journal report this month said Bryce, of Caledonia, "has enlisted staff members including Bill Hyers, a Barack Obama alumnus who ran upset campaigns for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Sen". "The system is extremely flawed". At one point Ryan can be heard saying, "This is repealing and replacing ObamaCare".
Emmanuel Macron to reshuffle government after French parliament election win
The government spokesman said earlier that Macron is expected to make only small, "technical" changes and rename the government. The number of female politicians is the highest ever in France's lower house of parliament, reaching 38.7% - up from 26.8%.
There are probably a decent amount of people in the United States right now who want Paul Ryan to not be a congressman anymore.
While Bryce has lost two previous elections for the state legislature, he is hoping his blue-collar background will elevate him over one of the country's most well-known Republicans. He is a U.S. Army veteran, community activist and political coordinator for his local ironworkers union. He also won't be the only Democrat to rival Ryan: David Yankovich recently announced that he plans to run against him as well. The primary is scheduled for August 2018. Republican Paul Nehlen last week said he was challenging Ryan in the GOP primary after losing to him by 68 points previous year.
