Despite Trump's claim, lawyer says president not under investigation

A simple tweet from President Donald Trump is keeping the Russian Federation investigation in the headlines.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer says he has yet to discuss with the president whether he believes the Russian Federation government interfered in the 2016 election, as intelligence agencies have concluded. Cuomo maintained that the special counsel in the Russian Federation probe, Robert Mueller, will be looking into the circumstances around Comey's firing as Sekulow said he couldn't be sure Mueller would be doing that at all, as the President is able to fire the Federal Bureau of Investigation director per the Constitution. Early Friday morning saw Trump take to Twitter to proclaim, "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!" But two avenues appear clear so far: The lawyers are prepared to paint Mueller's investigative team as somehow politically motivated, or too aligned with the interests of fired FBI Director James Comey; and they will argue the president didn't illegally exert pressure on the investigation.

After the report was published, the President subsequently acknowledged in a tweet, "I am being investigated".

"That tweet was in response to a Washington Post story that ran with five unnamed sources", Sekulow said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union".

According to the White House, Mueller interviewed with Trump to replace Comey after Trump fired him. Cuz the special counsel under the special counsel regulations reports still to the Department of Justice-not an independent counsel.

"The president of the United States takes action after receiving a memorandum from his attorney general, a letter actually from his attorney general and memorandum from his deputy attorney general", Sekulow told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

Tropical Storm Bret Forms In The Atlantic
The advisory said Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 130 km from the centre and Minimum central pressure is 1008mb. At worst, the storm could flood neighborhoods outside the city's levee system and cause flash flooding even in protected areas.

Our suggestion would be that Mueller decide first whether there is even a shred of evidence to back up the Trump-colluding-with-Russia claim - something that looks increasingly unlikely.

Then there's the issue of Mueller, and the argument for his potential conflict is not what one might expect. The White House used a memo he wrote to justify Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, but Trump's firing of Comey may now be part of the probe. That's all we know.

Meanwhile, other sources have said that the President is indeed under investigation for the highly unconventional firing of the FBI Chief.

Sekulow defending Trump was nothing new.

"He's being investigated for taking the action that the attorney general and deputy attorney general recommended him to take by the agency who recommended the termination", Sekulow concluded. Meanwhile, it is no secret that there are both Senate and House committees that are investigating the President.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Tuesday that he expects an announcement "this week" on the possibility of tapes. "He's saying that nobody has ever notified the president that he's under investigation", she said. Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said that the panel - overseeing one of several congressional investigations - is looking forward to getting a response from the White House on whether recordings exist.
