Virat Kohli along with three Indians were named in the ICC Team of the Champions Trophy 2017, with Pakistan's Sarfraz Ahmed named its captain, a day after his side lifted the coveted title at the Kennington Oval.

Pakistan gained four points to move to 95 points as their wins over higher-ranked opponents in the tournament included the one in the final against India and an eight-wicket semi- final victory over England.

Dhawan and Hasan had already won individual trophies for finishing as the most successful batsman and bowler of the tournament respectively.

A jury of cricket experts, including former English captain Michael Atherton, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja, editor of Wisden Almanack Lawrence Booth, and cricket correspondent Julian Guyer amongst others selected the team.

India's spin bowler Harbhajan Singh on June 20 urged cricket fans to strop trolling his former team mate Virender Sehwag for his recent tweet in which he mentioned India as the "baap", Pakistan as the "beta" and Bangladesh as the "pota".

New champions: Zaman, Amir and Pakistan raze India for title
Unable to chase a mammoth total of 339, India were bowled out for just 158 in the 31st over of the second innings. Let me take you back to, well, any year since Partition, really, but we'll say 1992.

Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Adil Rashid were the three Englishmen while Tamim Iqbal was the lone Bangladeshi in the team. Sarfraz-led Pakistan, who entered the tournament as World No. 8, thrashed title-holders India by 180 runs in a remarkable final on Sunday.

England's Adil Rashid was the only spinner after claiming seven wickets.

Pakistan Army has mocked India while celebrating their country's comprehensive victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final by sharing photos of celebrations in restive Balochistan with a caption "To whom it may concern'. But I am happier and delighted for players like Fakhar Zaman and Hassan Ali, who impressed their peers through their talent and performances, and found their way to the side". "These two lads, plus Shadab Khan, are the future of Pakistan cricket and I sincerely hope they will only go in the upward direction from here", he added. The event showed the team's grit and ability to bounce back solidly when the chips are down.

The News, in a editorial headlined "Champions", said: "If there is one thing you can say about the Pakistan cricket team, it is that it exists to confound everyone".
