GOP Official: Scalise Shooting Will Win Ga. Election for Us

On Tuesday, voters across Georgia's Sixth Congressional District will choose between Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel, Georgia's former secretary of state, in the most expensive House race in history and the most highly anticipated special election of the year. Trump at the time also said Ossoff would raise constituents' taxes and that he is "very bad on crime & 2nd A", referring to the Second Amendment.

But as small as the victory might ultimately be, the implications will likely be read as massive by the defeated party. But there are a lot more Republicans in the district than Democrats and in the end, it will come down to which side has the better Get Out the Vote organization. Ossoff has not taken those positions.

"Democrats saw an opportunity, so they went all in", said Randy Evans, a Republican National Committeeman from Georgia.

The special election to fill the House seat vacated when Mick Mulvaney became White House budget director has largely unfolded without the intense partisan fever of contests elsewhere, like Georgia's hotly disputed congressional race.

An aggressive air campaign by Handel and allied groups, targeting Ossoff and his national security record, could be moving the needle. Earlier Monday, he downplayed Trump's role in the race while rallying supporters in Chamblee, but he acknowledged that it's a motivating force for many supporters.

Ossoff says House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who was shot on a suburban Washington, D.C. baseball field, is "fighting for his life".

The super PAC apparently wasn't the only one to try to make such a connection.

Matt Murray also was stellar in net for a 24-save shutout, the third time in Cup history a rookie goalie blanked his opponent. The Preds also contained the Penguins in the wins, holding them to just two goals while snuffing out six power-play attempts.

In that SC race, largely neglected by the media and national Democrats, Republican Ralph Norman is running against Democrat Archie Parnell, in the heavily Republican 5 congressional district, where 39,270 people voted in the Republican primary, compared with 18,709 who voted in the Democrat primary.

The numerous polls conducted this month show a race too close to call. We must tell Democrats that Jon Ossoff and Nancy Pelosi's values do not represent the people of Georgia, and that we are committed to the direction Republicans are taking this country.

Over the weekend, Ossoff had a much more intensive schedule of public events than Handel, and his pace is expected to increase even further on Monday, The Hill reported.

Ossoff is seeking support from moderate voters with ads focused on the economy and national spending, while Handel is focusing on her experience as Georgia secretary of state.

Handel said that type of attack ad was "disgusting" and that it should be taken down, echoing Ossoff's call on Sunday.

Ossoff, 30, initially drew national attention with the slogan "Make Trump Furious", inspiring volunteers from as far away as OR to knock on doors and make phone calls for him. "I know some of you out there, some Republicans may even be turned off by our president", said Perdue, before making the case for his boss.
