MTV points out two obvious settings: the 1940s/World War II, because William Moulton Marston created the character of Wonder Woman in 1941; or the '70s, in honor of the Lynda Carter-starring TV series. The film, which topped the box office last week with the franchise's second-lowest debut, slipped to third with $21.6 million.

Director Patty Jenkins admits she was not initially thrilled about actress Gal Gadot being chosen for the role of Wonder Woman. That total was also almost matched by the other ten Asian markets, where the film combined for $34.1 million and swept the No. 1 spots. Rabid DC and Marvel fans may have a very competitive nature, however the stars and the different members of both studios show nothing but support for each other. Gadot's spirited "Wonder Woman" basically joins him in the same mission. With her film's stellar debut, director Patty Jenkins becomes the first female director to top $100 million in a film opening.

"The surreality of, 'I can't believe we're getting to make Wonder Woman,' and also, 'Oh my God, we have to make the greatest Wonder Woman of all time!' " she said. After the news of the box office success, the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, tweeted, "Wonder Woman is breaking box office records!"

"Wonder Woman" is now playing nationwide. That indicates that the well-reviewed film's strong word of mouth is giving "Wonder Woman" more momentum than usual.

They checked his laptop, cell phone and a camera and found there that indicated he had been scouting potential targets. He died yesterday from gunshot wounds sustained when law enforcement officers engaged him in a shootout at the scene.

On the heels of the film's $103.1 million opening weekend, Entertainment Weekly recently shared Jenkins' thoughts on a sequel for the heroic Gal Gadot vehicle, taken from an April interview.

Speaking to Deadline, Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros' domestic distribution boss, said, "This movie resonated globally".

Warner Bros' Wonder Woman has received positive reviews worldwide and has been the highest grossing film of a female director for the first weekend.
