Senate Democrats have lately urged the media not to focus squarely on President Donald Trump's Russian Federation scandal, saying that once Republicans reach a secret compromise, there might not be much stopping them from rushing it through to a vote with little opportunity for the public to react.

The governors implored the leaders to focus on stabilizing the individual insurance markets, give states flexibility and ensure affordable cover. Instead, it wants Senate leaders to work together on an overhaul of President Barack Obama's health care law.

While we are all watching the hearings on Trump's possible obstruction of the intelligence communities, Republicans are quietly pushing a health bill along through the Senate.

Again, if the Senate proposal is more generous than the Houses version, it will be harder to meet the bills required budget targets.

The Senate plan would raise the sales tax to 6.5 percent and reduces personal income taxes by an average 5 percent starting January 1, 2018, followed by triggered 5 percent reductions over three following years.

A select group of Republican Senators has been working in secret to finalize the bill that would replace Obamacare. Over lunch with senators on Tuesday, he complained that it was "mean" and urged the senators to pass a more compassionate bill. But in a May 28 tweet that raised questions about his intent, he said, "I suggest that we add more dollars to Healthcare and make it the best anywhere".

A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declined to comment.

But, second of all, as you have indicated, we have an insane process, insane. The House bill would phase out the money for increased Medicaid coverage by 2020.

Democratic Sen. Patty Murray of Washington said she thinks the House abortion restrictions will have "a real problem standing up" under Senate rules. It is a process aiming to pass a bill that harms millions of Americans while helping the richest become richer through undeserved tax breaks. They could walk into McConnell's office and say they'll oppose any bill that is not made public for at least a month of real scrutiny and discussion.

She pulled few punches, also writing that the Senate is plotting "a secretive path toward Obamacare repeal - and top White House officials (including the president) consistently lie about what the House bill actually does".

Dean Heller - the Republican who is likely in the most danger of losing his seat in the 2018 midterms - as well as Alaska Sen.

The idea that Democrats would've written a secret bill, to be voted on without a single congressional hearing, would've been considered insane.

Hoping to force the GOP's health care plans out of the shadows, a top-ranking Democrat invited Senate Republicans to engage in a bipartisan negotiation next week over the future of Obamacare. And they will demand an open process to consider health care when the Senate reconvenes Monday. McConnell is trying to keep the pressure off the many Republican senators who have offered pledges of varying degrees of specificity to protect Medicaid and other aspects of the ACA that benefit their constituents.
