Tamil Nadu finance minister D Jayakumar on Sunday hit out at DMK working president M K Stalin and alleged that the leader of the opposition was "selfish" in demanding that the state government be dissolved.
The horse-trading allegations, "if proved to be true will kill the spirit behind seeking vote of confidence, shake the entire edifice of democracy and demolish the faith Tamil Nadu has in the democratic institutions like the legislative Assembly", the petition said.
The main opposition party has also intensified its attack on the Palanisamy government on a host of other issues as well.
These demands have been raised with the Governor and he has assured us to look into the legal aspects of the matter, Mr Stalin said.
He said AIADMK MLAs were later taken to a seaside resort at Koovathur near here and "detained illegally" prior to the trust vote and later brought to the assembly for voting.
"We state, therefore, that the video recordings of the sting operation telecast constitutes material evidence, which has a significant bearing on the validity of proceedings of the Vote of Confidence" conducted on 18th of February, 2017", the DMK representation said.

The president also praised his own use of social media , tweeting about how he is able to bypass traditional news media . The memo identifies several Trump officials and advisers whose records are of particular interest in the probe.
Since the beginning of the session, Stalin has been alleging that the Speaker of House denied him permission to raise the issue of bribing of MLAs.
He also alleged that the "dream of becoming the chief minister is troubling him [Stalin] and depriving him sleep".
"It is me in the video, but the voice is not mine", Saravanan had said.
A vote against party line violating the whip would strip the legislators of their assembly membership and hence there was no scope for bargain, the AIADMK leader asserted.
After the anti-defection law came into force, "no MLA can go out of the party", he said.
They also urged the Governor to order a probe by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate into the alleged pay-offs.
