They voted on a slap-dash bill even before the Congressional Budget Office had a chance to score it.

On Tuesday, 45 conservative groups and activists sent a letter to Sen.

Republicans' number one legislative goal-repealing and replacing Obamacare-faces a narrow path toward achievement, even with the party controlling all branches of government. When asked if the Senate bill will have a lower per-capita cap growth rate than the House bill, at first he said he didn't know.

The secretive Republican process has frustrated not only Democratic lawmakers - Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Republicans must be "ashamed" of the bill to keep it secret - but also many GOP lawmakers.

The taxes most likely to be abolished directly impact consumers and the health industry, including a tax on health insurance premiums, the so-called Cadillac tax on high-cost employer-provided insurance and the medical device tax. How and when would Medicaid be scaled back for those who gained coverage in the Obamacare-fueled expansion? Ted Cruz said Thursday. John Thune, R-S.D., told Reuters.

"Our members and other Americans over age 50 are very anxious about legislation that would raise their premiums through what is, in effect, an age tax, weaken Medicare, undermine protections for people with pre-existing conditions and make changes to Medicaid that would put some of our most vulnerable citizens at risk", said AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond.

"If we can move a bill through the Senate that demonstrates we can get 50 Republicans to vote for something ... maybe the House will take up our bill and act on it". The same group is increasingly tired of conservative Republicans in the Senate who are pushing for steep, drastic cuts to Obamacare's Medicaid expansion program.

Some moderate GOP senators are trying to extend the phase-out over seven years and ease some of the Medicaid cuts the House bill would make.

The invitation comes as Democrats step up their demands to see the GOP legislation before it comes to the Senate floor for a vote this summer.

"There's no question that the current debate is not centered on eliminating all the taxes in Obamacare right now", Sen. "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it".

"The Obamacare status quo is unsustainable and unacceptable", said Sen.

"I don't know exactly because no one knows exactly", said Rep. Chris Collins, a Buffalo Republican, who also said he hadn't spoken with any Senators about the amendment.
