On Thursday afternoon, Trump sent two tweets attacking his former opponent.
United States intelligence agencies have concluded that Moscow interfered in the 2016 presidential campaign to try to tilt the vote in Trump's favour. A former FBI Director himself, Mueller is widely respected by politicians on both sides of the aisle.
In a series of tweets that started just before 8 a.m., Trump once again denied any collusion with Russian hackers during the 2016 election.
President Donald Trump complained on social media about the wide-ranging investigation of Russian interference in the US election as Robert Mueller appeared to widen his probe to include whether Trump tried to obstruct justice.
That said, Mueller's first priority should be getting a handle on any leaks (if they're coming from his team) and stopping them.
And which threatens to move far away from its original focus: alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, for which no real evidence has been offered. Shortly after Trump fired Comey, a Justice Department official tapped Mueller to take up the investigation as a special counsel.
On Wednesday, the Post reported that Mueller was examining whether Trump has tried to obstruct justice and was seeking interviews with three administration officials: Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence; Michael Rogers, the head of the National Security Agency; and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director.

The airstrike was carried out following drone footage confirmation of the meeting location, the statement said. The U.S.is offering a $25 million reward for information leading to his death or capture.
Mueller investigation's appeared to be reaching a broadening circle of current and former officials.
Republican Senator John Thune defended Mueller's integrity and said he needs to be able to continue to do his job and get to the bottom of the issues.
The obstruction of justice investigation into Trump began days after Comey was sacked, according to people familiar with the matter, the Washington Post said.
Trump was strongly critical of some of Comey's testimony but said Comey had vindicated him by saying while he was at the agency, Trump was not the subject of the FBI's Russian Federation probe.
Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump's personal lawyer, responded Wednesday evening to the Post report by saying: "The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal". It was not immediately clear whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation was the source of the information.
USA TODAY previously reported that the FBI was investigating Kushner for his contact with Russian officials, but there was no word at that time that his financial dealings were part of the probe.
Mueller met Wednesday with the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee in an effort to ensure their investigations don't conflict.
