The shooting comes nearly a year after 49 people were killed at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016, the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Fiamma calls itself one of the largest manufacturers of awnings for camper vans, motor coaches and sport utility vehicles.
Police were called around 8 a.m.by a woman who ran from the awning business, Fiamma Inc., saying the gunman had told her to leave. A fifth victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he also died, the sheriff said.
The victims were 44-year-old Brenda Montanez-Crespo, 46-year-old Kevin Lawson, 53-year-old Kevin Clark, 57-year-old Jeffrey Roberts, and 69-year-old Robert Snyder.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings described Neumann as a disgruntled ex-employee but said it was not clear why he was sacked or what prompted his actions. "Some were shot multiple times". A large police presence remained hours alter. Neumann left the scene before police arrived and was not interviewed, police noted. He was sacked from Fiamma in April.
On Tuesday, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings presented next year's agency budget to the county commission and part of the proposal includes a raise for deputies which the Sheriff says is needed to keep Central Florida's growing population safe. No charges were filed at that time. Clark died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He lived in a single-wide trailer in the Lake of the Woods mobile home complex in Seminole County, north of Orlando.
A search warrant has been issued for Neumann's home. When Neumann encountered a young woman who was a temporary employee, he allegedly pointed the gun at her and told her to get out of the business, Demings said.

Neumann had a record of minor crimes, none violent, dating back more than 20 years. What is clear is that such horrific shootings have become a common occurrence in 21st century America. "It appears this incident has nothing to do with any global terror activities". She told the Orlando Sentinel that there have been 150 employee-on-employee killings since 2010. "Now it's becoming common".
In a 2014 incident report, Neumann's co-worker said Neumann punched him in the back of the head when he approached, knocking him to the ground. He was "taken way too soon by senseless violence in his workplace", they wrote.
While citing these very real social ills as triggers for workplace violence, however, these firms offer no solutions to these problems aside from beefing up security.
"Orange County is on fire - that's a positive thing". Seven other employees were in the Fiamma Inc. building at the time of the attack and were unharmed.
Friends of one of the five victims of a workplace shooting at an awning company in Florida say his family is suffering "an immeasurable loss".
Rodriguez was sacked after working for the company for almost a decade.
