Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali, backed up their bowlers, with a 118-run opening stand that helped Pakistan comfortably outclass hosts England, by eight wickets, with almost 13 overs to spare, to book their berth in the Final of the Champion's Trophy slated to take place at the Oval on June 18.

"I think it will have to evolve in whatever manner the game does over the next two years in the lead-in to the World Cup, but certainly I think we're moving in the right direction".

He confirmed that, despite their setback, England's long-term ambition to win the 2019 World Cup remains on track.

"We are building up to that", Bayliss said.

"We were the only unbeaten side in the tournament in what was a very tough group and we did it our way".

On paper, India are overwhelming favourites against the next door neighbors but in a game of glorious uncertainties, it will be foolhardy to count Bangladesh out of equation, especially after their inspirational "come from behind" victory against New Zealand that paved the way for their semi-final berth.

Pakistan, on the contrary, came out for the chase with a plan.

Hales aimed something expansive over the infield, but didn't get enough bat into his stroke, the blade turned on impact and gave a comfortable catch to Babar Azam. Batting is probably our strength but with bowling, there are still improvements to be made.

Is the United Kingdom facing parliamentary paralysis?
The British Labour Party, led by Jeremy Corbyn , is set to gain seats following the British election, according to exit polls. The Labour leader was just 2,227 votes away from being elected as the country's new Prime Minister.

"Past records don't matter in a match of this magnitude and tomorrow is a new day". On a friendlier surface, the tactic might have worked, but it was a pitch for patience.

June. 15 (ANI): Following England's painful ouster from the Champions Trophy at the hands of an aggressively impressive Pakistan, skipper Eoin Morgan was left lamenting a lack of home advantage, asserting that the reused Cardiff pitch led to England being bundled out.

Hasan Ali once again produced a clinical bowling performance in the tournament and finished his quota of 10 overs at an economy of 3.5 runs per over.

During a seven-match series versus England, it had been nearly a year since Yuvi's last ODI hundred.

Yet that day, England were playing on a fresh wicket, so batsmen found it easier to hit their stride. However, Morgan did not think that was the reason for England's demise. It might have been decisive. "They adjusted to conditions extremely well, and the wicket was obviously slow and low and hard to get away to start with", Morgan added.

"Is there a psychological barrier when England play knockout matches? I am not focussing on my 300th game", he said.

"One of the huge contributing factors towards topping our table and playing very good cricket in the group stages is that we've stayed true to what we believe in and what's worked for us the last couple of years, and I think that's the continued formula for the future", the Middlesex batsman told reporters. "You have to take it on the chin".

England move on to a Twenty20 series against South Africa next week, but the disappointment of this defeat could linger for some time.
