The report went on to say that Turnbull could be heard joking about the Russian probe.
The audio of Turnbull's address, which typically remains confidential, was leaked by 9News reporter Laurie Oakes. That came after the Washington Post reported that Trump berated Turnbull in a phone call and "abruptly ended" their conversation.
"It was lovely. It was the most handsome putting-me-at-ease ever", he joked.
"The Donald and I, we are winning and winning in the polls", Turnbull said, imitating Trump's manner of speaking. We are winning in the real polls.
Malcolm Turnbull talks up the alliance with the United States before President Donald Trump.
He added: "Not the fake polls". They are so easy to win. They are so easy to win.

Turnbull said the speech was lighthearted, affectionate and good natured.

But unlike the U.S. version, the leader's speech is supposed to be off the record.
The US Embassy in Canberra issued a statement: "We understand that last night's event is equivalent to our White House Correspondents' Dinner".
Trump has never appreciated jokes being cracked at his expense by the late night hosts, be it Alec Baldwin impersonating him in "Saturday Night Live" or Stephen Colbert turning the president's policy decisions on their heads. It is yet to be seen if he will receive Mr Turnbull's impersonation with the same disdain.
In return, Australia would resettle refugees from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
Under the deal, the U.S. will take up to 1250 refugees that Australia houses in detention camps on the Pacific island nations of Nauru and Papua New Guinea.
"This is the worst deal ever", Mr Trump reportedly said about the refugee deal, complaining that he was "going to get killed" politically.
