Doom VFR brings its Satanic shooting action to virtual reality

DOOM VFR was shown off at Sunday night's Bethesda Keynote, alongside Fallout4VR - a version of the game compatible with the HTC Vive headset.

Even if they're not ready to make the virtual reality leap yet, I'm sure longtime Doom fans appreciate the addition of the "F" in Doom VFR. Fallout 4 VR includes the complete core game with all-new combat, crafting, and building systems fully reimagined for virtual reality.

Instead, I watched as some of the prettiest hellspawn that I ever did see start charging towards us in the new VR title, Doom FVR. Where the original Dishonored's DLC starred enemy assassin Daud, this time you'll take control of Daud's second-in-command Billie Lurk as she tries to kill (you guessed it) perpetual goth-teen demigod The Outsider. The fast-paced action of Doom appears to only intensify within Doom VFR as well.

You know that joke about DOOM running on anything?

The Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus reveal trailer began with what seemed to be footage from a vintage film, featuring a large quadruped robot named Liesel. After all, immersion is the entire point of playing a game in VR and if the game is so poorly rendered that it takes the player out of the experience, then it defeats the objective of VR. However, Sony recently came out and said they have sold over a million PlayStation VR consoles, which is above their estimates.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is releasing on the 27th of October for PC, Xbox One and PS4. See the trailer for The Elder Scrolls Legends: Heroes of Skyrim below. You will be playing as characters from the game and while it's not technically DLC you can expect about the same kind of DLC value. You can use the motion controllers to select items, decorate settlements, fire weapons, and interact with the environments.
