With NSW 80 minutes away from claiming the shield on home turf next Wednesday, Walters is ringing the changes with rookies Val Holmes, Coen Hess and shock bolter Tim Glasby coming in alongside Maroons masters Billy Slater and Johnathan Thurston.
KEVIN Walters is feeling the heat as the Maroons coach prepares to name his side for the second State of Origin clash in Sydney.
Justin O'Neil and Oates were dropped and five-eighth Anthony Milford made way for Thurston, who was a late withdrawal from the series opener because of a shoulder injury.
"No doubt Corey (Oates) will get his opportunity again at this level, but just for the moment, for Game II, we think we've got a young fellow there that has played for Australia, played in a winning grand final for the Sharks".
It marks the most changes for Queensland in a decade, with the last time seven changes were made to a Maroons side being in 2007.
Cronulla's Holmes seems set to debut on the right wing, with Dane Gagai moving to centre in place of O'Neill.
Xbox One to get backwards compatibility for original Xbox games
A few games above will be supporting Xbox Cross Play feature that will allow you to play it on Windows 10 as well as on console. Coming to all Xbox One markets starting November 7, Xbox One X will retail for $499, 449 pounds, 499 euros, C$599 and A$649.
"[These changes] were always going to be in our plans to bring some new players into the team who haven't played origin".
"For game one we picked a team that won last year's series and the majority of those players were afforded the luxury to perform in game one".
A squad sheet can not hide the seven changes made to the side, which Kevin Walters labelled as inevitable after the last two results for the side.
In the forwards, North Queensland youngster Coen Hess will make his debut while Cowboys teammate Gavin Cooper returns to the Origin arena. "The transition period for Queensland is right now".
"It was very hard - he's had four very good games for Queensland", Walters said.
Predicted Queensland side: Billy Slater, Val Holmes, Will Chambers, Dane Gagai, Darius Boyd, Johnathan Thurston, Cooper Cronk, Dylan Napa, Cameron Smith (C), Josh Papalii, Gavin Cooper, Matt Gillett, Josh McGuire.
