Arab countries have put 12 organizations and 59 people they say are associated with energy rich Qatar on a terror sanctions list.

The call, held at Tillerson's request, came after Tillerson on Friday urged Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states to ease their blockade of Qatar, saying it was causing unintended humanitarian consequences and affecting the US -led fight against Islamic State.

"We have all kinds of recordings taking place where they (Qatar) are coordinating with Al-Qaeda in Syria", he said. Qatar's Emir has said such a view is a big mistake.

As Kuwait's emir shuttled between Gulf capitals for talks, US President Donald Trump offered to host a White House meeting if necessary, in a change of heart from his initial support for the Saudi-led boycott.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have severed diplomatic ties and suspended air and sea links with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism.

Saudi Arabia and allies published a list of individuals and organizations they say are involved in terrorism and mostly linked to Qatar, the Gulf nation coming under growing pressure from its neighbours. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was also ready to support diplomatic efforts "if desired by all parties", his spokesman said.

But when it comes to Qatar's foreign policy, "no one has the right to intervene", said Sheikh Mohammed.

The move carries some risk for Turkey, particularly if Saudi Arabia attacks or annexes Qatar. Previously, the USA had insisted the Qatar crisis wouldn't affect US military efforts in the Middle East. Davis said the diplomatic rift has not interrupted or curtailed operations at al-Udeid air base, a launching pad for U.S. military efforts in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

French President Emmanuel Macron has also reached out to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran in a bid to kick off negotiations. Saudi Arabia has blocked the transmission of Al Jazeera, closed its airspace to Qatar Airways and closed its land borders with Qatar.

Sheikh Mohammed was also dismissive of claims Qatar supports Islamist groups like the Palestinian movement Hamas, blacklisted as a terrorist group by the European Union and the United States. The agreement did not detail a timeframe or the number of troops.

As tensions flare between Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran and their allies, reports of hacking are emerging across the Gulf.

Qatar is the world's largest exporter of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), and produces up to 77 million tonnes of gas each year.

"The emir has no plans to leave Qatar while the country is under a blockade", the official told Reuters. On Saturday, he told Bahrain's foreign minister that the dispute should be resolved by the end of the holy month of Ramadan. "We need the world to condemn the aggressors".

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has approved legislation on deploying Turkish troops in Qatar, signalling support for the Gulf state as it faces isolation imposed by fellow Arab states over its alleged support for terrorism.

Gargash said "not using the formidable media ownership in promoting an extremist agenda" was a condition for negotiations.

Be it Egypt and Saudi Arabia supplying Soviet weapons to Pakistan in the 1980s for onward shipment to the so-called Mujahideen, the first incarnation of Taliban; or Bahrain and the UAE stifling any spark of dissent by any means, all have contributed to the spread of extremism and intolerance albeit some keeping a more moderate façade.
