The fake news story was apparently aimed at further escalating tensions in Qatar's ongoing diplomatic crisis.
Separate bills for the training of military personnel and the deployment of troops to a Turkish military base in Qatar were moved up parliament's agenda on Wednesday, a day after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced support for Qatar and criticized other countries' moves to isolate it.
Qatar has denied the allegations.
On Thursday the four countries issued a list of individuals and entities they said had "terrorist" links to Qatar, in their first joint statement since severing ties with Doha.
That was news to the Pentagon, which just minutes before said that the days-long blockade of Qatar had yet to interfere with USA operations at al-Udeid, from which are launched many sorties of the U.S-led coalition against the Islamic State.
But Trump said the isolation of Qatar is not a long-term US goal, expressing hope that the nation will "do more and do it faster" in cutting its financial ties supporting terror groups.
A Turkish delegation would go to Qatar in the coming days to assess the situation at the base, where around 90 Turkish soldiers are now based, it said.
Trump Lawyer Reportedly to File Complaint Against Comey Over Shared Memos
The Senate judiciary committee, meanwhile, sent a request to Columbia University law professor Daniel Richman for Comey's memos. Under oath Thursday, Comey repeatedly called Trump a liar - Trump responded Friday by saying Comey was a liar.
The U.S.is carrying out military action in the region in its campaign against ISIS from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. They accused Doha of funding terrorism and cozying up to Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood, and banned travel and trade.
A solution can only be achieved "through diplomacy, not resort to "ally" Turkish and Iranian, and the starting point addresses concerns of siblings about their security and stability targeted policy", he added. They said they would take a hard line on funding extremism, and all reference was pointing to Qatar.
Sheikh Mohammed was also dismissive of claims Qatar supports Islamist groups like the Palestinian movement Hamas, blacklisted as a terrorist group by the European Union and the United States. Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states accuse Doha of supporting extremist groups, but Tillerson suggested that all sides needed to do more.
Trump's comments came after his top diplomat Rex Tillerson appealed to Saudi Arabia and its regional allies to ease their blockade of Qatar, saying it is hindering USA military actions in the region and the fight against the Islamic State.
The extraordinary denunciation of the key US ally seemed to align the White House with the diplomatic blockage on Qatar that kicked off earlier this week by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Libya, Yemen and the Maldives.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Middle Eastern leaders complained about Qatar when he demanded an end to support for radical ideology that encourages terrorism.
"I won't name other countries but we are not done solving the problem, but we will solve that problem", he said. That base, the AL Udeid Air Base is the main regional center for USA air missions in the ongoing fight against Daesh.
