Political World Watching As Comey Begins Testimony

Twitter users have latched on to former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's use of "lordy" during his Capitol Hill testimony about his interaction with President Donald Trump.

"One hundred percent", Trump said when asked about his willingness to deliver sworn testimony.

Trump aggressively addressed some questions during the bilateral news conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on Friday, but coyly answered others. "I'm not hinting anything".

During nearly three hours of frank statements Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Comey described himself as "stunned" by Trump's "very disturbing" and "very concerning" behavior in several meetings.

Painting a devastating picture of an untrustworthy president, Comey admitted he asked a friend to leak those notes to a reporter, betting - correctly - that the details would prompt the appointment of a special prosecutor.

Former New York City U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was also fired by Trump, echoed Comey's statement, writing, "We can all agree with Jim Comey that, Lordy, we hope there are tapes".

"I didn't say that, I will tell you, I didn't say that", the President added.

Crosby's three-assist game marked his 56th multi-point playoff game, tied for fourth most in National Hockey League history. After combining for zero points in Games 3 and 4, Malkin had a goal and an assist and Kessel a goal and two assists.

But as much as Trump looked to undercut Comey's testimony, he also heralded some of his claims, namely his comment there was no evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians and no investigation into Trump personally during his time at the FBI.

Comey says he wanted the information leaked to the media that involved Trump suggesting Comey drop an investigation into Flynn.

"In response to Trump lawyer's complaint against Comey: Since no legal basis for this complaint, it would constitute more Obstruction of Justice".

"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication", Trump tweeted, "and WOW, Comey is a leaker!"

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a White House spokeswoman, said: "I can definitively say the president is not a liar, and frankly I'm insulted by that question".

Trump cryptically refused to say whether those private exchanges were taped - a matter at the heart of the conflicting accounts of what passed between them at a time when Comey was leading an FBI investigation into Russia's interference in the presidential election and its ties to the Trump campaign.

"He probably wasn't steeped in the long-running protocols that establish the relationships between (Department of Justice), FBI and White Houses".
