Grocery store employee kills three coworkers, himself, police say

Almost 24 hours after 24-year-old Randy Stair opened fire inside a Weis Market near Tunkhannock, investigators are painting a picture of a night of terror inside the store.

One witness was able to flee the store and call 911 before Stair killed himself with a bullet to the head.

The murder-suicide occurred inside a Weis Markets grocery store in Eaton Township, Pa., about 25 miles northwest of Scranton.

Then, around 1 a.m., Stair blocked all the entrances and exits to the building, including a door which he blocked with his auto, retrieved a duffel bag containing his weapons, then systematically gunned down his co-workers one by one.

"People that see things online and they don't report it, they don't necessarily get in trouble", Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said.

The victims were identified as 63-year-old Terry Lee Sterling, 26-year-old Victoria Todd Brong and 47-year-old Brian Hayes, police said.

The fourth co-worker managed to escape the massacre after the other three victims were fatally shot.
