The eccentric singer continues to tease the release by dropping a new song called "Sober".

Ella Yelich-O'Connor will release her long-awaited second album 'Melodrama' on June 16. "This is just the beginning of course! so many more dates to be added", Lorde assured her American fans.

"With a party, there's that moment where a great song comes on and you're ecstatic, and then there's that moment later on where you're alone in the bathroom, looking in the mirror, you don't think you look good, and you start feeling frightful", she explained.

Lorde also describes the song's emotional message: "It's leaning and drawling, juvenile and triumphant - impressing someone then embarrassing yourself".

The UK is reliant on the inflow of foreign investor capital to keep the value of Sterling elevated and its economy oiled. But even that arrangement seemed shaky. "Both short-term and medium-term GBP's prospects appear daunting to us".

Melodrama is the follow-up record to Lorde's critically acclaimed debut Pure Heroine, which won two Grammys and reached number one in more than 20 countries.

This will be the commencement of a world tour for Lorde, as she starts wit 6 "home" shows in New Zealand before crossing the Tasman for dates in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra (Split Festival) and Melbourne.

Melodrama is slated for release June 16th.
