Web Desk - Pakistani army said on Thursday a recent operation has broken up an attempt to set up an Islamic State group network in the country.
China is "gravely concerned" about the reported killing of two kidnapped Chinese nationals in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province late last month, state news agency Xinhua said on Friday.
"Islamic State fighters killed two Chinese people they had been holding in Baluchistan province, southwest Pakistan", Amaq said. A young couple teaching Chinese in a town in Balochistan were kidnapped last month, while a third Chinese national escaped.
There had been no claims of responsibility until Thursday, when the Syria-based terrorist group's global media outlet, the Amaq News Agency, announced the executions.
A Baluchistan government spokesman said officials were in the process of confirming "whether the report is true".
