Apple's Fusion Drive - Apple's take on hard drive/solid-state drive hybrid storage - is also coming standard to all 27-inch iMacs, and is an option available on 21-inch models. The iMac Pro brings the workstation-class performance of the cylindrical Mac Pro to the 27-inch iMac form-factor, complete with a 5K display.

If you've been loving the USB-C ports and Thunderbolt 3 support offered on the latest MacBooks, you can stop being jealous of your laptops, since the iMac now comes with Thunderbolt 3. Its 27-inch Retina 5K display is gorgeous and will allow users to enjoy the flawless visual experience.

Apple stated that thermal issues were one of the core reasons that it was not able to move forward, but with that problem out of the way, it looks like all of you are graced with the iMac Pro. It is also expected to get new chips and increased RAM.

Pricing for the two entry-level Wi-Fi 12.9-inch iPad Pro models remains unchanged, though you get double the storage. Xeon processors with up to 18 cores will be an option that you can choose from.

Now the iMacs are great machines but they have never been considered as professional workstation replacement, until now.

Apple states that if users were to go and assemble a similar spec'd system, it would cost them $7,000 but the starting price of the iMac Pro is an aggressive $4,999, which will obviously feature the Xeon 8-core processor. However, the limelight of the lineup was stolen by the debut (or a sneak peek) at the upcoming souped version of the device called iMac Pro. The Apple iMac Pro 2017 will be coming out this December and the price starts at 4.999 United States dollars. The new iMac Pro will be available in December of this year.

It's not just the processing power that has changed, either, with an AMD Radeon Pro Vega graphics chip providing up to 16GB graphics memory while this special chip itself can deliver up to 11 teraflops of processing power, a term which will be lost on people, but basically means "fast", and made to handle the sort of operations which are needed for graphics creation, rendering, video editing, and high-performance computing.
