And on Sunday, the night before the stabbing that killed one granddaughter and critically wounded another granddaughter and her daughter, neighbors said Clark was acting erratically outside her daughter's Colton residence.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A California woman arrested Tuesday in the stabbing death of her 18-month-old granddaughter had a lengthy history of mental illness and became distraught late past year when she was separated from her young, special needs son, her relatives said.

Colton Police are searching for a woman who allegedly stabbed her daughter and two grandchildren.

But after the plea, a judge ruled that she was not guilty of the two attempted murders by reason of insanity, the Pasadena Star-News reported in 2007.

Colton, Calif., police investigate the scene where a 6-month-old baby was killed and her sister and mother were hospitalized in critical condition after a stabbing attack at their apartment in Colton Monday, June 5, 2017.

Mendez says investigators do not know the motive for the attack, which took place in an apartment where Clark, her daughter and granddaughters lived together. "It has been bad for our family", LaShunda Clark said.

A witness said she could hear screaming from the apartment. "I just don't understand". At the time she was expected to remain in a mental institution, but was released in 2010, Mendez told KTLA. An 18-month-old girl did not survive. Authorities said that the two are listed in critical condition.

Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, said his office "strongly opposed" Darrington-Clark's petition.

New Zealand will be the more gutted side as they were at an advantageous position despite late exploits by Australian bowlers. Josh Hazlewood finished with six for 52, the second best bowling figures in the tournament's history.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to call Colton police at 909-370-5000.

It wasn't immediately clear when or why she was released from the mental hospital and whether the daughter in the 2005 attack is the same one critically injured Monday. A judge found her not guilty by reason of insanity.

Clark began to show signs of improvement once she was diagnosed as a severe schizophrenic and started receiving medication from the county, Sheahen recalled.

Her husband, who was still at the Riverside apartment Tuesday, declined to comment. At around 9:10 a.m. the woman reported the incident that occurred inside an apartment in the 1400 block of San Antonio Drive.

Darrington-Clark was arrested Tuesday in San Bernardino for investigation of killing her granddaughter and wounding her other granddaughter and daughter.

Police decided they couldn't wait for paramedics and took the girl to the hospital, Hill said.

Neighbor Patty Williams told The Press-Enterprise that the wounded woman had been "stabbed everywhere".
