Veteran defensive tackle Corbin Bryant has inked a deal with the New York Giants.

Bryant was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northwestern when he signed with the Chicago Bears after the 2011 NFL Draft. He joined the Bills the next season.

More than 90,000 students have expressed interest in the scholarship, Fuller said. Next year students whose families making up to $125,000 will be eligible.

To create roster space for Bryant, the Giants waived center Khaled Holmes, a member of the team since January 18.

Bryant will add depth to a group looking to fill the hole left by defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, who signed with the Colts this offseason.

The Giants now have seven defensive tackles on the roster, with undrafted free agents Josh Banks and Jarron Jones also in the mix. He joins second-round pick Dalvin Tomlinson, Robert Thomas, Robert Harris and Jay Bromley as possible counterparts for Damon Harrison in the middle of the line this year. Bryant became a permanent part of Buffalo's defensive line rotation during the 2013 season. He has 43 total tackles in his career to go with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He played in one game as a rookie and none in 2012 while going on and off the Steelers' practice squad several times. Bryant's most productive season was in 2015, when he played in every game, started 10, and had a career-high 45 tackles (24 solo).
