Union minister Jitendra Singh today said the Army is giving a befitting reply, which was unseen in last several decades, to Pakistan's ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. This is the third violation in the last 2 days.

Speaking to IANS, Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said, "Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing and shelling on our positions on the LoC in the Rajouri sector". As many as 27 families have been affected due to the shelling in which many houses, and a school, have been damaged partially or severely.

Pakistan said 13 people, including many women and a toddler, were injured in firing by Indian troops.

Three civilians including wife of Tufail Zaitoon Begum were injured in the shelling.
