Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle says she has been in talks with President Trump to become the new White House press secretary.
The two divorced in 2005 when Guilfoyle relocated to New York City to begin her television career.
"The New York Times mentioned Guilfoyle's name in this piece last week about how thankless a job it is to be Trump's surrogate, titled "'Looking Like a Liar or a Fool': "What It Means to Work for Trump", suggesting though that Spicer had spent "several hours" with Trump last week, implying he was still in the loop. Right, but there's no doubt at all that he's not going to last much longer as press secretary.
PIRRO: Will he be tomorrow?
Her appointment would not likely quell the grumbling over alleged links between Trump's team and Russian Federation.
TRUMP: And here's the thing, the difference between me and another president.
Guilfoyle didn't bat an eyelash at the prospect of jumping into that cauldron.

Tanz said if you have all your files backed up, it leaves those using ransomware against you, "without any power whatsoever". Asked if the government had ignored warnings over the NHS being at risk from cyber attack, May told Sky News: "No".
"I'm a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country", Guilfoyle said. "I think it'd be a fascinating job, it's a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position".
Guilfoyle says she hasn't talked specifics with the administration, and the White House isn't commenting. Trump reportedly was not satisfied by the communications' team handling of the fallout that came after he fired Comey.
Then she offered the famously prickly Spicer what appeared to be a backhanded stab disguised as advice.
Exit question: Why the hell would Trump, a president consumed with embarrassing leaks, want someone as his new press secretary who's already blabbing about internal White House operations?
"If I had to go after him, I would, but I'd be fair", she joked about Newsom. And otherwise you're driving blind'. "It has to be somebody with a very close relationship, where there's trust there, there's inherent loyalty, someone who's been there from the beginning".
Similarly, she added that she would not have a problem with the significant pay cut she would likely have to take in leaving The Five, one of cable news's most-watched shows, and one that only last month moved into a primetime slot. She added, having already spoken publicly about her personal friendship with Trump in NY - she's known him for at least 10 year and her son Ronan, in fact, went to school with Trump's granddaughter Kai - "It has to be somebody with a very close relationship, where there's trust there, there's inherent loyalty, someone who's been there from the beginning". 'I think I enjoy a very straightforward and authentic, very genuine relationship, one that's built on trust and integrity, and I think that's imperative for success in that position'.
