Trump hails first 100 days in office, says 'battles' ahead

Congress has refused to provide any money for the border wall that was a powerful symbol during the Trump campaign, and courts have blocked two of his efforts to bar travellers from on six predominantly Muslim countries. But his most high-profile order, a temporary ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries entering the United States, was twice blocked in USA courts.

Trump has put on a courageous face nevertheless.

On foreign policy, he admitted he had backed down on a vow to label China a currency manipulator, but said "flexibility" was needed because Chinese President Xi Jinping was a "good man" who was trying to help Trump rein in North Korea.

Though the Commerce Department's first-quarter report showed sluggish economic growth last month, Trump's ad also focused heavily on jobs created during his tenure, showing workers building a pipeline, assembling a truck, and laying down cable.

During his first 100 days in office, the US leader's pronouncements on trade, taxes and foreign policy have tended to generate a burst of activity in the world's biggest financial market.

But even if his core supporters still fully back him, he is the least popular USA leader in modern times at this stage of his presidency, polls show. "Governing, so far, has turned out to be more than Mr. Trump can manage", the paper wrote.

Among the other nations hit by the hack, dubbed "Wannacry", are Spain, Ukraine and India, reported the securelist website .

Trump said major accomplishments in his first 100 days included seeing a Supreme Court nominee confirmed by the Senate, pulling the U.S. out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade accord, a rising stock market and the easing of regulations on exploration for energy.

But others blamed any shortcomings on obstruction from Democrats.

The 30-second spot, titled "First 100 Days", begins with a clip of the president being sworn in earlier this year.

Republicans have rallied behind Trump's appointment of the conservative judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

Rising global tensions are also preoccupying the White House.

The campaign's website highlights additional talking points on the White House's priorities in the first 100 days.
