'Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller Gets One Year In Prison

She pled guilty in July 2016 to counts of fraud and money laundering, after she was caught hiding income she earned between the years 2012 and 2013 while reorganizing her dance studio.

"'Dance Moms' became a hit and I became the laughing stock of reality TV", Miller told the judge before her sentencing, promising she would not find herself in a court room again if given leniency. The sentencing comes over a year after she was found to have disclosed over $755,000 from her TV stint. On top of that, she will have to pay a $40,000 fine and a $120,000 judgment. Miller's one year and a day prison sentence is to be followed up by two years of supervised release.
