The resolution also describes as null and void any decision by the Israeli parliament, its supreme court, or any other Israeli authority that pertains to Jerusalem al-Quds.
The resolution, passed yesterday at the United Nations organisation's Paris headquarters, denounced actions taken by "Israel, the occupying power.to alter the character and status of the holy city of Jerusalem".

Elias Wadih Sanbar, the Palestinian ambassador to UNESCO, said Tuesday's resolution was part of efforts to "stop giving a kind of blank check to an occupier that is acting with total illegality and impunity".

The Israeli Minister of Culture and Sport, Miri Regev, called on the government to close the UNESCO headquarters in Jerusalem and confiscate the building.
"UNESCO's decision is freaky", said Netanyahu, "and this harrassment has a price".
The result marked an improvement for Israel, which has previously found itself with little global support besides the Unites States.
The United Nations' cultural agency voted to condemn Israel's sovereignty in Jerusalem. But I would especially like to thank the Italian Foreign Minister and Prime Minister. The vote passed with 22 countries in the resolution's favor, 10 opposed, and 23 abstentions.
