The Philippine military on Sunday recovered in Sulu, Southern Philippines the body of a soldier held captive by the notorious Abu Sayyaf Group.
Local government officials in the island province of Sulu have been challenged to join the fight against the Abu Sayyaf bandits.
The soldier's cadaver was found in Sitio Kan Suil, Barangay Tagbili, Patikul last Sunday afternoon.
"A composite tactical force composed of AFP, PNP and even NBI teams should be exclusively dedicated to focus only against the Abu Sayyaf, who will do nothing except eat Abu Sayyaf for breakfast, lunch and dinner", said Lacson, a former PNP chief.
ARMM's Darul Ifta (Fatwa Council) said in a statement that the recent atrocity of the Abu Sayyaf has showed their brutality and disregard to the teachings of Islam. The victim was the third hostage that the Abu Sayyaf bandits beheaded this year.
President Duterte has ordered the security forces "not to sleep" until all bandits are killed.
He lauded Siraji, a former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fighter integrated into the Army, for his contributions to the government's peace efforts.

Duterte at that time had apologized to Germany for what he tagged as the failure of the Philippines.
"Sa Bohol, may mga hinahabol pa sila (in Bohol, they are still running after some people)".
"I think they are testing the patience of the President".
The military on Monday expressed their condolences to the family of Siraji.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Eduardo Año warned the bandit group against propagating their nefarious activities.
"You will suffer the same fatal consequences as these terrorists for attempting to bring in terror and havoc to this tranquil province of Bohol-or in other places in the country for that matter", he added. "As it was, we understand that it's all part of our jobs as soldiers and protector of our people", Armed Forces of the Philippines Public Affairs Office Chief, Col. Edgard Arevalo said.
