Dayton police were waiting Tuesday morning for a search warrant so they could enter a house near where the dogs were found. He said the man was also crying.

Lt. Mark Ponichtera (PAHN'-uh-tehr-uh) says police found the man being attacked in an alley. They were trying to determine its owner.

Dog mauling incidents tend to be horrific, such as in the case of the Klonda Richey, a Dayton resident who was killed by two of her neighbor's dogs in 2014, said Dayton Prosecutor Stephanie Cook.

"We're trying to make contact with neighbors to see if there's any history of problems with these dogs", Booher said.

"Near Riverview Avenue there's a man outside yelling 'Jesus help me. Help me, '" the caller told the dispatcher. He's yelling at the top of his lungs. Police are still figuring out if he is the owner of the dog that attacked. However, police said that there's evidence people were feeding and caring for four dogs at the home.

Tour of Britain to head from Edinburgh to Cardiff
British rider Steve Cummings won last year's tour, in which star riders Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish competed. Edinburgh will host the start of the event for the first time with the finish line in Kelso in the Borders.

Police say the property owner is in a nursing home, and it's not clear who lives there.

The man identified as the dog's owner by the injured girl's mother lived on the 1000 block of Riverview Avenue. "This isn't something that ordinarily happens". When police arrived on scene they shot and killed the dog and took the other three to Dayton's Animal Resource Center.

Police said it appears that the dogs did not have food or water and might have been hungry.

The southwest OH city had two high-profile dog mauling deaths in 2014 - one of a 7-month-old boy, the other of a 57-year-old woman.
