The re-release is is in development at a studio called Screaming Villains, and coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in autumn. It also reveals that the anticipated release date will be sometime this Spring, so it doesn't look like we have too long to wait!
The original game was released soon after the debut of the CD-ROM, and like most full-motion video games, it's pretty awful.
Night Trap follows five teenage girls who find themselves attacked by vampires. While watching the action unfold in real-time, players can spring traps to stop the Augers' assault, and can pick up passwords and other necessary information by eavesdropping on the girls' conversations.

As a result of the hearings, Night Trap was pulled from store shelves in 1993, although a censored version appeared in 1994.
But its legacy looms large as one of the games responsible for the establishment of the industry-standard video games ratings system, better known as the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
