It turns out the two sides still aren't all that close.
The star back known as "Beast Mode" announced his retirement in February of previous year, on the same day as Super Bowl 50 via Twitter.
The Oakland Raiders remain interested in acquiring retired running back Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle Seahawks, even if talks have seemingly quieted down of late.
"As far as Aldon and the draft, our thought process is just on the draft, not considering Aldon at this point", McKenzie said. Head coach Jack Del Rio said by "every indication he was excited to play for the Oakland Raiders". And you got it, that's the issue Lynch and the Raiders are stuck on.
The hang-up is money in what will be an incentive-heavy deal.
Lynch's contract with the Seahawks that he walked away from when he retired during Super Bowl 50 has him set to make $9 million upon National Football League reinstatement, way too much for a 31-year-old back who sat out the last year and dealt with injuries the last time he played in 2015. However, he noted Lynch is "balking at taking less than half".
Not long ago, there was a report the Oakland Raiders had agreed to terms on a new contract with RB Marshawn Lynch.

He also said that the request for all of Flynn's foreign contacts was "very unwieldy". "Personally I see no evidence or no data to support the notion that Gen.
"At some point, you would like to know", he said. Who knows after that?
"I would think Reggie would want to go into the draft knowing that they have another runner or not", Schneider said.
Depending how an agreement is structured, that would mean Lynch accepting less money than, say, the Seahawks are going to pay Eddie Lacy in 2017 (reportedly $5.5 million total, with $2.8 million guaranteed).
The Raiders visited with former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon at the team's Alameda facility on March 21.
Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider acknowledged on Monday that Lynch, whose rights still belong to the Seahawks, has been negotiating with Oakland.
In recent years, the Raiders have solidified picks in the draft before looking toward free agency, which has worked in cases like adding Derek Carr and Khalil Mack to the team.
