New Orleans and Minnesota will kick-off their season with a Monday-night match up in week one, and the Vikes defensive unit can't wait. But the Saints see otherwise as they are planning to use AP's powerful, aggressive run game to help Drew Brees air it out to bring back excitement in NOLA nation. The report stated Peterson told Anderson it is worth $7 million. The whole $3.5 million is guaranteed for this season at signing.

With those parameters in place, Peterson would carry a salary cap charge of $2.25 million this year for the Saints and a $4.75 million total charge in 2018. Here are the terms Peterson says he is agreeing to at this point: The 2017 compensation is $3.5 million (all guaranteed at signing), including a $1 million guaranteed salary in 2017 and a $2.5 million signing bonus.

Adrian Peterson has agreed to a two-year deal with the Saints and now I'm starting to question why we're bothering at all with more than one running back spot in the average fantasy football lineup.

The challenge for him will be to continue posting big numbers while entering next season at 32 years old. Teaming the former NFL MVP with Mark Ingram is going to make the Saints' backfield a monster. He became a free agent this season when Minnesota opted not to pick up his $18 million option.

Many around Packer Nation will be breathing a sigh of relief at this news, as many fans expressed concerns about Peterson and all his baggage coming to Green Bay to fill the team's need at running back. The knee injury, he had the 1,000-yard season. However, he has proven his value on a few times in recent years.

There was a time when adding a player like Adrian Peterson would make everyone excited, especially Fantasy owners. On the other hand, Peterson explained on his Twitter account in March he was in "no rush" to find a team and was looking for "the best fit".

Looks like there will be a second back on the Second Line in New Orleans. That means he'll open the 2017 season on the road against his old team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Peterson and the Vikings lost to the Saints in overtime of the 2009 NFC Championship.
