Tampa Bay gas prices jumped another 7.3 cents this past week, rising above the national average by two cents as it reached $2.44 per gallon on average for unleaded.
Including the change in gas prices in Alabama during the past week, prices yesterday were 24.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 13.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
A sliver of good news: DeHaan noted that prices might not rise to the $2.70-$2.80 per gallon that Gasbuddy had projected earlier this year.
$2.58/g in 2016, $3.07/g in 2015, $4.31/g in 2014, $4.36/g in 2013 and $4.59/g in 2012.
The national average was slightly higher than the state average Monday at $2.42, up a penny from a week ago.
