Anthony Knockaert can not wait for a second chance as a Premier League footballer after helping Championship leaders Brighton and Hove Albion gain promotion.

The French playmaker has been instrumental in the Seagulls' success this campaign, scoring 15 times and being named the Sky Bet Championship player of the year.

Brighton are now in for a bumper payday, with promotion to the Premier League worth an estimated £170m.

Brighton will become the 48th team to join since its inception since 1992 and, of the last five teams to get promoted for the first time, three (Burnley, Blackpool and Cardiff) went straight back down at the first time of asking.

"It's unbelievable and a great feeling", he told Brighton's official website.

Albion boss Hughton still has work to do to establish himself as a top-flight manager and will be keen to make sure he still is one come the end of next season.

The GKN plc (GKN) Rating Reiterated by Liberum Capital
The Company is engaged in the design, manufacture and service of systems and components for original equipment manufacturers. The Company produces, develops and markets its principal product, iron ore pellets, for sale to the metallurgical industry.

Hughton, a recent Football Black List award recipient for his contribution to the game, has been backed by club chairman Anthony Bloom.

Goals courtesy of Glenn Murray and Solly March won the Seagulls the game, and the day's late kick off saw 3rd placed Huddersfield unable to beat Derby County, meaning it was mathematically impossible for Brighton to slip out of the top two.

For club chief executive Paul Barber promotion is a deserved reward for Bloom's massive outlay. The Premier League is really tough, we know that, and we are going to hopefully have a good season and enjoy being in the Premier League for many years to come. Less than twenty years after the Seagulls were withering in England fourth division, they've made the long and hard climb back up the pyramid.

Promotion to the Premier League is set to provide a major financial boost to Brighton.

It may not match Leicester City's Premier League title success last season - arguably the greatest ever team sport feat - but fans of Brighton and Hove Albion are celebrating another remarkable landmark. There are a lot of people still involved who were around through those tough times.

"We got a little bit complacent in the last 10 minutes, as if it was already party mode, which I didn't like because we've got a Championship to win now".
