Trump says he is considering a range of military options to respond to North Korea's continued escalation toward developing nuclear weaponry.

President Donald Trump has suggested he neglected to label China a currency manipulator because Beijing is assisting in "the North Korean problem", but Sean King, senior vice president of Park Strategies suggested otherwise: "I want to know what help China is giving us on North Korea because as far as I see it, they're not doing anything". When asked about Washington's potential response if North Korea carries out a sixth nuclear test, Thornton said, "Some kind of a major provocation like that would draw a pretty significant worldwide response". "I'm not like other administrations, where they say we're going to do this in four weeks", Trump told Fox's Ainsley Earhardt on Monday during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Trump, a Republican, goes on to criticize Democratic administrations. In a conference call on April. 17, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Susan Thornton responded to questions about possible actions the USA could take multilaterally or bilaterally with North Korea to reduce tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

During an interview with "Fox & Friends", while answering a question on the topic of North Korea, Trump confused the current North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un with his father and predecessor, Kim Jong-Il.

North Korea is one of Trump's most hard national security challenges. In 1994, the US signed a deal meant to freeze and ultimately dismantle North Korea's nuclear program.

"You read Clinton's book. and he said, 'Oh, we made such a great peace deal, ' and it was a joke", Trump said. "But I just don't telegraph my moves". We'll see what happens.
