Spicer apologizes for Hitler comments

"I got into a topic that I shouldn't have and I screwed up", Spicer said during an event at a museum in Washington.

"The media is so gullible, they fall for these things because they think it's really hot stuff and the public just can't wait to stick it to Sean Spicer - who 99% of the people wouldn't have the foggiest idea who he is and it distracts them from other things", Cramer, a North Dakota Republican, said Wednesday KFYR-FM with conservative radio North Dakota host Scott Hennen.

Spicer, when asked about the alliance between Russian Federation and Syria, contended that chemical weapons weren't used in World War II, adding that "you had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons". He followed that up by telling reporters that Hitler brought Jews "into the Holocaust center", but he "was not using the gas on his own people in the same way that Assad is doing", referring to the Syrian dictator.

While he confirmed Mr Trump had not spoken to him directly about the gaffe, he refused to say if the USA president had passed on a message to him.

Spicer made the assertion at a daily news briefing, during a discussion about the April 4 chemical weapons attack in Syria that killed 87 people.

Spicer offered an apology Tuesday, telling CNN's Wolf Blitzer that he was "trying to make a point about the heinous acts" committed by Assad and he "mistakenly used an inappropriate and insensitive comment about the Holocaust, and there is no comparison".

Mourinho Hails 'fantastic' Rashford As Chelsea's Title Charge Stalls At United
Conte, who won three Serie A titles in charge of Juventus, insisted the pressure of the title battle would not get to him. They last met in the final four back in 2012 and it was Chelsea who ran out comfortable 5-1 winners on that occasion.

"I would ask obviously for folks' forgiveness", he added.

The New York-based human and civil rights organization, which is named for Jewish German teenager Anne Frank who died in the Holocaust, blasted Spicer's Tuesday press briefing remarks as "Holocaust denial".

Spicer's initial comments about the Holocaust demonstrate a lack of awareness about the historical reality of Hitler's use of gas against Jews in concentration camps, but his clarifications reveal the insidious nature of that ignorance. "Sean Spicer must be fired, and the President must immediately disavow his spokesman's statements".

"Steve is a good guy, but I told them to straighten it out or I will", the president said.

"Sean Spicer's statement that Hitler didn't use chemical weapons is severe and outrageous", Katz tweeted. She did not challenge him, did not dig, did not do anything but allow him a platform on which to speak. "Any attack on innocent people is reprehensible and inexcusable".
