Hosting Saturday Night Live without making a political statement would be challenging for most comedians, but apparently not for Jimmy Fallon.

"Jared, you're such an inspiration", Baldwin as Trump said. For the cold open, Jimmy Fallon played Jared Kushner and it was definitely the ideal, hysterical choice.

After rattling off his latest accomplishments and talking about the brewing conflict with North Korea, Baldwin's Trump brought in his two top advisers to address their recent battle for influence within the White House. Smartly, Pence helps America avoid a nuclear war and reminds the president that there's been distractions at home, too.

Their conversation soon turned to the reported feuding between Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner, "Pence" insisting that "Trump" talk to them. The president's 2020 campaign has already spent close to $500,000 on Trump's businesses, from golf resorts to Trump Tower rent, according to new campaign finance filings.

In the UN Security Council, Russia vetoed a resolution by the U.S., France and Britain condemning Assad for his use of chemical weapons.

After inviting his very stylish and very quiet son-in-law Jared Kushner, played by late night host Jimmy Fallon, and his former campaign chairman Steven Bannon, played by the Grim Reaper, into the Oval Office, Trump detailed what makes each important to him.

What's ideal is that Fallon has absolutely no lines at all, he just nods his head and shyly takes all of his father-in-law's compliments. Senior adviser Steve Bannon and Trump-in-law Kushner have, apparently, been at each other's throats over who's daddy's favorite. Zing! Still, Fallon doesn't speak.

Who did Alec-as-Trump pick?

Much of Trump's fundraising comes from small donations, suggesting that his grassroots base could play a bigger role than wealthy benefactors in his quest to stay in the White House for eight years. It was just that good.
