PM Modi's view on triple talaq echoed sentiments of Muslim women: BJP

It will focus on expanding the party in politically important states like West Bengal and Odisha, which are key to Shah's 2019 Lok Sabha poll strategy.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modis's plea for a complete ban on triple talaq echoed sentiments of lakh of Muslim women, who have been running from pillar to post seeking justice and an end to the menace. "His popularity among the people of India has confirmed that he is the most admired and respected leader since the time of Independence", it said heaping praise on the prime minister. "We should work for solution at district level".

The board has made it clear that it will not tolerate any interference in the Shariat laws, and claimed an overwhelming majority of the Muslims in the country do not want any change in their personal laws.

It is due to the people-friendly policies and schemes that the Government has rolled out, the poor have started feeling a sense of trust and belonging in the present Government, it said.

It applauded the government for making honest efforts to get the GST bills passed in Parliament and achieving success in bringing a discipline in the budget so as to accelerate the economic activities in all sectors.

Modi added: "We should not allow conflict in the society".
