Boston Marathon runners get tailwind at start

Galen Rupp, 2012 Olympic silver medalist for 10,000 meters and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist for the marathon, is among the contenders, and probably the top US threat in the men's race. Rupp, an Olympic bronze medalist, is one of America's next great hopes now that Meb is retiring. Many run for causes, many more are running to prove something to themselves. Among the competitors will be cancer survivors, people with prosthetic limbs, and others who've overcome unimaginable odds to run on Patriot's Day in Boston. It's there. It's done. "The scariest part would be. everything else about the Boston Marathon".

Led by Galen Rupp's second place finish in the men's race and Jordan Hasay's third-place finish in the women's race, former OR standouts were well-represented in Monday's Boston Marathon. A new documentary that premiered in Boston on Saturday night, narrated by Matt Damon, tells that story along with many others from the history of the world's longest running long run.

"I'm nervous and excited".

"She knows herself she is not champion", Beyi said. "And if you think about it sort of rationally it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it does all come together".

The 121st Boston Marathon is on its way from Hopkinton to Boston.

Semple later disqualified Switzer for, among other things, running with the men.
