If the Raiders succeed in adding Lynch, they will surely be one of the favorites to win it all in the 2017 season. Lynch is generally outspoken and considered "strange" at best so it looks like we'll have something to look forward to this National Football League season assuming Lynch's "out of retirement" bid for the Raiders comes to fruition. He still has strong ties to the area through his Beast Mode company and would be a welcome addition for a fan base still stung by the team's upcoming move to Las Vegas for the 2020 season.
This isn't Lynch's first run-in with an autograph-seeking teen, either.
Schneider and his counterpart with the Raiders, former Green Bay Packers front office co-worker Reggie McKenzie, are working on a trade of the retired running back to his hometown team, so Lynch can end his retirement and play for Oakland this year.
Lynch is set to join a running back core in Oakland that released Latavius Murray but still have good, young prospects in Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington. In the playoffs, Marshawn Lynch was just as effective as he started 11 playoff games with the Seahawks, scoring nine touchdowns which included the infamous 67-yard touchdown run against the New Orleans Saints in his first ever playoff game, and rushed for 937 total yards. A few weeks back, there were reports that he plans to only play for Oakland if he makes a comeback to the NFL.
How Dan Rooney forced the National Football League to give Black coaches a chance
Rooney is survived by Patricia, his wife of 65 years, four brothers, seven children, 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Tagliabue described Rooney as a "mentor, role model, indispensable supporter and great friend".
Yet it's a coup for the Seahawks that Schneider could get anything more than a bag of kicking tees for Lynch.
The Raiders finished 2016 as the NFL's No. 6 rushing team with 1,922 yards and 17 touchdowns. That future pick would depend on how Lynch performs for the Raiders this fall.
The Raiders begin their offseason program Monday.
