Griezmann strikes to share points in Madrid derby

Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with Manchester United, but new reports suggest that Real Madrid have a secret plan to buy him, and he has now commented on these rumours.

The Sun quotes the 25-year-old, whose late goal grabbed Atletico Madrid a share of the spoils in Saturday's derby against Real, spoke after the game and explained that it would be nearly impossible to make the a move to the Bernabeu.

Atletico Madrid striker, Antoine Griezmann put a break on Real Madrid's march to the Liga Santander title with an 85th minute goal for his team to tie at Madrid derby 1-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

However, it's claimed by AS that Atleti will respond to speculation by offering the French global a new contract worth €10m per year, which is a €3m-a-year increase on his current deal.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone conceded after Saturday's game that he is unsure where Griezmann, who has a contract at the Vicente Calderon until 2021, will end up.

"He is a great player and has been showing that through these years".
