With the victory, the Mets continued their recent domination of the Phillies.
Cespedes fell down on a wild, powerful swing on the first pitch he saw of the night, then hit a three-run homer to center field off Clay Buchholz in the first inning. The Mets hit 10 home runs in the three wins.
And in his fourth plate appearance, Cespedes hit a measly double to the center field wall for the Mets' hardest-hit ball of the season, with an exit velocity of 111 miles per hour. They're also 6-1 in their last seven road games versus a right-handed starter and have won nine of their last 11 games versus a right-handed starter.
Lance Lynn (0-1) allowed six runs - four earned - and five hits and four walks over five innings. Every Mets starting position player registered a hit. The performance is a reminder of why NY was No. 2 in the National League last season with 218 home runs and joined Baltimore as only the second and third teams to ever score over 50% of their overall runs via home runs.
An inning later, the Mets lengthened their lead when Cabrera and Cespedes hit back-to-back shots to make it 8-1. Before exiting, Harvey was pitching a good game against the Phillies, going 5.2 innings and only allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts.
The fifth inning was a three-run Mets disaster. Though the Phillies (3-6) were swept, the irritating visiting fans cranking up several rounds of "Let's go Mets", they didn't go quietly.
Asdrubal Cabrera and Travis d'Arnaud also went deep for NY.
NY needs to hit more singles and draw more walks in front of their home runs.

Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian air base that the U.S. says was used to pummel civilians with nerve gas, resulting in 87 deaths. Mattis reiterated that the US would strike against the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria again if it used chemical weapons.
Cam Bedrosian (1-0) got the win with an inning of relief and Jeremy Jeffress (0-1) was stuck with the loss.
Pomeranz, who opened the season on the disabled list with a strained left forearm, took a shutout into the seventh inning.
It was too little, too late because of that fifth inning.
In the game, the Mets had 14 hits for extra bases. I didn't give my team a chance to win, so this is awful. There are some positives but the little things have to start getting better.
In his first start of the season April 7, he struck out 10 but lasted just four innings, allowing four runs and throwing 94 pitches.
NOTES: The Mets have now won 15 of their past 17 series vs. Philadelphia and are 28-12 against their NL East rival since the start of 2015.
Conforto's homer in the third made it 2-0.
With the Mets up 9-2, the Phillies threatened to cut into the deficit when they loaded the bases in the fifth with two outs, but Harvey struck out Odubel Herrera to end the threat.
