The unrest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has entered day two as members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) again clashed with the police at the popular Banex junction, Wuse 2.
He, however, vowed that not even the killing of their members by security agencies would stop the protest and demand of the release of El-Zakzaky, his wife and other members who were still being held by the state.
The protest is already turning violen with residents scampering for safety.
The protest, however, turned violent as government vehicles owned by the emergency management agency were burnt by the aggrieved protesters.
In October 2018, the IMN and human rights groups said, more than 40 people were killed when the security forces opened fire on crowds on the outskirts of the capital.
The IGP, while commiserating with the family of the late DCP, condemns the incident and warns that Enough-is-Enough as the Force and the nation at large will not continue to suffer losses on account of reckless and lawless persons and groups in the society.
"Specifically we briefed him of the incessant acts of trouping out of this group of people, protesting here and there".
He said the IMN "embarked on a streak of destruction" during the demonstration, adding that 54 Shiites were in police custody.

"In this era of social media, the brutality displayed by the police today has been captured with some pictures showing the police setting up the bonfires and there are videos that captured the police carting away their victims". The 23-year-old was reportedly shot in the stomach.
In its news bulletin, Tonight at 10, the station said Owolabi was hit by a stray bullet during the protest.
