US extends sanctions relief under Iran nuke deal
He was sanctioned for his involvement in Iran's solid-fuel ballistic missile programme. Under the 2015 nuclear agreement , the USA lifted those sanctions. Trump threatened to tear up the nuclear deal during his campaign and has launched a review of its terms, but until then he is required to decide on renewing sanctions relief at regular intervals.
