A former Texas Supreme Court Judge and Attorney General, Cornyn is a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Were he chosen, Cornyn would be stepping onto history's stage at a crucial juncture in the Trump presidency. Trump has said a decision could come as soon as this week.
